This movie story revolves around Peter Quill, who is in search of his father. He must combat the villainous Ronan and unravel the mystery of an orb which comes to be sought after by both himself and a rival gang lead by Yondu. Meanwhile, Rocket steals some batteries for the Sovereign in exchange for the location of Gamora.The Ravagers arrive at Ego's planet, where they discover that Yondu was arrested after the Sovereign people discovered he gave Quill and his group information about Ego. They release Yondu and travel to Ego's core, where they reunite with Quill, Groot and Gamora. When Yondu begins to control the ship's path during their escape from Ego's core, causing them to crash land on Berhert, Quill shoots him with an arrow. They find themselves confronted by Ayesha's forces. After a lengthy battle, they are successful in defeating the Sovereign forces. Yondu is able to escape with Gamora, taking refuge with Ego. Ayesha comes to rescue Quill and tries to persuade him to join her side. She offers him the Orb of Infinity, which was originally intended for Peter's father but he refused it. While Gamora is being tortured by Ayesha's forces, Yondu arrives and helps Quill fight off her forces. Yondu eventually becomes distracted allowing Ayesha to shoot at him with one of her quills just as the rest of the Ravagers arrive.
